Biography

1951

István Burai was born in Debrecen on April 13, 1951.

1969-1985

He studied art at the Ferenc Medgyessy Fine Arts Society and Free School under the tutelage of László Félegyházi and Lajos Bíró.

1988

Member of the National Association of Hungarian Artist (MAOE) (graphic design subdivision).

1990-1993, 2009

Head and board member of International Artists’ Colony of Hajdúság in Hajdúböszörmény. Professional artist.

1998

Member of the Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists (painting subdivision).

2000

Founding member and vice-president of Ajtósi Dürer Association of Graphic Artists.

2001-2008

Director of Hortobágy International Artists Colony.

2001-2010

Member of the National Board of MAOE.

2002

Member of the Society of Hungarian Painters.

2004

Honorary member of the kARTc Literary and Art Association.

2006

Participated in the development of the concept of the Artists’ Colony in Debrecen.
